Tapeka Del Mar is the perfect base to explore Northland, swim with the Dolphins, fish, dive, cruise the Islands, play golf and visit the many attractions around historic Russell, Waitangi and Paihia. The open plan living, kitchen and dining area is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows with sliding doors providing easy access to the verandah, deck, grounds and beach. A high sloping ceiling compliments the nautical theme and ornaments with a Cape Cod feel. The wall mounted marine chart of the area is always a conversation point as fishing and diving spots are discussed. Halogen lighting on dimmers ensure the ideal evening atmosphere. The living area and house bedrooms are serviced by a covered verandah providing shade and protection in the event of rain. Three leather sofas seat 7-9 comfortably. Nautical instruments on the wall indicate the state of the tide, humidity, temperature and time. Solid timber floors, a high whitewashed ceiling and nautical theme providing a Cape Cod feel. Relax in the comfy leather sofas and enjoy the constantly changing views.
There are 4 bedrooms sleeping up to 13 guests. The 3 main house bedrooms all have access to the covered verandah surrounding the house. All are close enough to the sea to hear the waves lapping on the shore. Beds are fitted with quality linen and made prior to arrival. Master Ensuite Bedroom - King size bed and full en suite bathroom. This is located on a secluded wing of the house providing privacy and quiet. The room has reserve, beach and sea views from the bed with a ceiling fan for those hot summer nights. Leave the sliding door access to the deck open at night and let the sound of the waves send you to sleep. The LCD flat panel TV permits the viewing of all NZ and satellite channels or view a DVD. Facilities include cordless telephone, clock radio, heater, hair dryer and electric blanket. The bathroom has a wall mounted heater and heated towel rail. This room also contains a safe for the valuables. Front Bedroom - front of house with sea views. 1 x queen and 1 x single. Ceiling fan, reading lights and clock radio. A washing machine, dryer, ironing station and detergents are provided for any washing during the stay. Linen is changed at least every 6 nights but daily bed making and more frequent linen changes can be arranged. Beach towels are available during the summer swimming months.
